The double helix bridge is globally unique spanning over 178 m in length. The bridge comprises 4 segments with a maximum span of 50 metres. The substructure comprises reinforced concrete abutments and 3 piers, each in turn supported on bored reinforced concrete piles.

SCOPE OF WORK

This project is a first of a kind bridge requiring enormous planning, resourcing, and absolute attention to detail in execution. Due to the location of the bridge requiring closures of both Delhi Road and the M2 Motorway, concrete placement was executed during night shifts to minimise closures affecting motorists. The works did include operating near pedestrian and vehicle traffic and was carried out without sacrificing safety and quality.
