OVERVIEW
This was an excellent opportunity for Damcon to be part of such a significant project that would make a difference to how Australians commute daily. WestConnex is Australia’s largest road infrastructure project and is a critical component of a broader plan to get Sydney and Australia moving again.
The New M5 will provide twin underground motorway tunnels (9 kilometres long) from a surface road connection with the M5 East in Kingsgrove to a new St Peters Interchange at the site of the former Alexandria landfill facility.
Faced with a challenging deadline, Damcon was also called upon to assist with practical completion to have the tunnels opened to motorists by July 4th, 2020.
Damcon was commended by the client for our craft and dedication to go the ‘extra mile’ while working tirelessly throughout the nights to ensure deadlines were met.
